“Empty Bowls” is the theme of Mount Horeb Area Food Pantry’s fundraising supper Sunday, March 11, 20074-7 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main Street, Mount Horeb.

The featured bowls are the artwork of Mount Horeb High School students.  They have worked since September creating about 200 bowls as dinnerware at this meal.

Menu is macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, chili, homemade cookies and bars and beverages.  Cost is $7.00 Adult which includes the bowl to take home (quantities are limited, so come early!), $5.00 Adult for meal only, and $2.00 for children under 12.

“Empty Bowls” has been a popular fundraiser around Madison in recent years.  High school and college artisans as well as professional potters have contributed thousands of bowls for these meals, most often put on for hunger needs.

In addition to the student works, pieces by Mount Horeb artists will be offered at silent auction in support of this effort.  A popular Food Pantry cookbook with simple recipes using standard Pantry items will be for sale, and free face-painting is another fun featured activity.

Volunteers from several area churches which support the pantry are providing the cooking and serving.  Come join your friends and neighbors for food, fellowship, fun and fine art!
